The name The Sophomore Attempt means 'The Second Try'... Everyone in the band had been in one or more serious bands before The Sophomore Attempt, 'this is our second try at pursuing music as a career and following our dreams.' The Sophomore Attempt is influenced by bands like Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, Underoath, Blink 182, Something Corporate and Death Cab for Cutie. The audiences that attend their shows are kids from 12 to adults who are 30 or 40, 'I think our music appeals to a large array of age groups.' According to Jeremiah, 'We want to get our music out to as many people as possible and influence the world in a positive way. Once you attend a show you will see our Passion and Energy. Come out to a show...you'll see what i'm talking about!' The overall message The Sophomore Attempt hopes to get to the world is, there is hope in every situation. 'No matter how bad it seems, something positive can always be made if you make the effort to find good in it.' Their latest album 'Hallways' deals with everything from people who don't appreciate their friends and how blessed they are, to girls that do their best at destroying the lives of the people they claim to care about, to the inner struggles of sexual abuse victims. A defining moment for The Sophomore Attempt is when a fan comes up to them at a show and tells them that their music has changed or positively effected their life.
